ADDITIONAL TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Emei Qigong
I am a student and practitioner of Emei Qigong. I have received
personal instruction, empowerment and have been certified to practice Qigong and Medical
Qigong by Grand Master Fu Wei Zhong (13th lineage holder Emei Qigong).
..."For centuries, the West has focused on conquering the
external world and controlling the elements. The benefits of this can be seen
in the comforts and conveniences of modern life; however, we have sacrificed
much. The greatest loss is in our lifestyle. We are out of harmony with nature,
which is very stressful.
As a result, most people today are unaware of the many
innate abilities they possess. Many animals sense when an earthquake is coming,
often hours or days beforehand.
Qigong is a bridge that makes it possible for a humans to be
become similarly attuned. Emei Qigong is an ancient system for health, healing,
rejuvenation, and spiritual development. It is a complete system, which
encompasses physical forms, exercises, meditation, nutrition, healing
techniques and spirituality. It is not a religion, so it is alright to practice
individual elements as desired.
The training combines medical knowledge with
understandings from Buddhism, Daoism and the true nature of all things. It
is based upon the same foundation as Traditional Oriental Medicine. Emei Qigong
cultivates mind and body in motion, and in stillness."

Community Service
I have always been an
active community member, providing health care at various settings, including:
Veterans
Village of
San
Diego
Serving Homeless and
under served military veteran (I am a
Vietnam Era veteran with a keen appreciation for the sacrifices made by my fellow
Vets).
Community
Seniors
Center
There are many
under served and forgotten senior citizens in our community who have contributed
greatly to the communities they live in, and deserve more than they receive.
Homeless Clinic
Most of us are closer
to this situation than we would like to believe. This is a great setting to
provide the kind of assistance most of us believe all people should have.
Community Clinic
With the costs of health care out of control, many citizens can’t even afford
basic care. This is a setting where citizens can receive basic holistic
health care at an affordable price.
San Diego Hospice
& Palliative Care
Being able to provide
health care and compassionate service to those preparing to leave this life is
nothing less than a privilege and an honor. In this setting, I have seen the best that that
western medicine can produce… and it’s REALLY good!
UCSD Athletic Department
Working with collegiate athletes and the athletic trainers was incredibly fun and fulfilling. Student athletes courage and
resilience is inspiring!
Orthopedic/Athletic
Acupuncture
Not exactly community service, but where else can I
acknowledge and thank Matt Callison for the training, experience, and mentoring
support he has given me?
He's incredibly intellegent, caring, and giving. I enjoyed the three years I spent working with and learning
from Matt at
AcuSport
Health
Center.
Balance Method of Acupuncture
This
system of Acupuncture primarily utilizes points on the arms and legs to
acheive, often, immediate relief from both chronic and accute pain.
This method is based upon the most ancient Yin-Yang and I-Jing Ba Gua
theories.
Posture
Analysis
I am certified as a Posture Analysis Specialist utilizing the Egoscue
Method. This is a widely acclaimed postural therapy based on a series
of stretches and gentle exercises designed to restore full, natural function to
muscles and joints. It can affectively treat chronic musculoskeletal pain
without drugs, surgery, or manipulation, enabling you to enjoy a
pain-free, active life.
